Tip: Paved access makes the course easy to reach, though AWD/4WD vehicles are recommended in winter in case of snow.

Baird's Creek Cabin welcomes up to 4 mature, well-trained dogs (with a nightly pet fee) and provides a great base for exploring the High Country with your pup. Downtown Boone’s pet-friendly patios and the scenic Valle Crucis Community Park are both minutes away.

Note: Only dogs are permitted, and the lawn is in the process of recovering from storm damage. Please supervise pets closely and follow all property guidelines.

Check-in and Check-out Procedures

  • Check-in is after 4pm and check-out is by 10am.

Property Access

  • Baird's Creek Cabin is located on the edge of Boone and has paved access all the way to the cabin.
  • Travelers visiting during the winter months where inclement weather may be possible should come prepared with an AWD or 4WD vehicle, and chains may also be required if it snows. 4WD/AWD and/or chains recommended during winter (Nov-March) for all homes. No refunds, allowances, or date changes will be given to travelers who are not prepared with the proper vehicle, as outlined in the Rental Agreement.

Policies and Rules

  • Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.
  • No smoking allowed.
  • Children allowed.
  • No events allowed.
  • No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
  • Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.

Pets

  • This home allows up to 4 mature, well-trained dogs with an additional pet rent of $25.00 per pet per night plus tax. Pets other than dogs are not permitted.

Cancellation Policy

  • CANCELLATION POLICY: STRICT: Cancellations 60+ days prior to arrival receive a full refund minus the $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations within 60 days of arrival will not be refunded unless the dates are rebooked to another traveler.

Utilities and Amenities Access

  • All BRMR homes offer well-stocked kitchens with all utensils needed to cook meals.
  • There is also a "starter set" of paper products at the house: a roll of toilet paper per bath, several garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two.
  • Towels and linens will be provided.
  • We do not provide hair dryers.
  • The property includes: Bed linens, towels, climate control, cooking basics, kitchen basics, dishwasher, toaster, washing machine, dryer, stove, oven, free parking, garden, hot tub, cable TV, TV, smoke alarm, carbon monoxide detector, cleaning basics, landline, and self check-in/check-out.

Safety and Emergency Information

  • Please be aware that Hurricane Helene washed away the ornamental walking bridge and much of the lawn. The home is looking great and will be ready for guests in late November. The yard will take additional time to have the grass return and to regain its typical scenic atmosphere.
  • The exterior propane tank was also damaged and will be repaired as quickly as possible.
  • The gas fireplace will not be functional until further notice due to exterior propane tank damage.
